Imagine my surprise when I receive an email telling me that Mayor Ed Lee of San Francisco loves his Blade+Blue Ties and Bow Ties!
The mayor invited me to kick off Small Business Saturday, an initiative to promote the idea of supporting neighborhood shops, local designers and Made in USA products.
I spoke to Mayor Lee about how important it is for Blade+Blue to produce locally and how the city can help someone like me grow their business.
Later that day, he went shopping for more of his favorite ties and bow ties by Blade+Blue. It was really cool when I turned on the news later that night and there he was in a tie that I had made here in San Francisco.

This past December, Mayor Lee passed away suddenly. I am so thankful for the support he gave to local designers like me and small businesses like Blade+Blue.
