"BENEDICT" - Gold & White Japanese "Uroko-Inspired" Print Short Sleeve Shirt - Made In USA

The Benedict Shirt: Hello, sunshine.

I have wanted to make a print using the traditional Japanese Uroko motif for a while now, but it can be tricky to get a bunch of triangles to look cool (!)
It was starting to give me a headache.

The traditional Uroko pattern mimics the scales of a fish or a snake - protective barriers against harm.
Now I wasn't there or anything, but apparently Samurai would wear this pattern as a symbol of protection :)

This print breaks from tradition by scattering the scales and painting them over a deep golden backdrop.

This Benedict is the centerpiece of an upcoming capsule called "Behind The Sun"
When this print came out, the combination of that warm gold and the re-positioned triangles made me feel like the sun was scattering it's rays all over the earth.

The fabric is printed in Japan. Each shirt is Made in USA

Made of 100% cotton, trimmed with natural buttons & navy herringbone tape.

- 'NITTY-GRITTY' GOOD STUFF: Let me share a few more details that make the Blade + Blue extra cool:

• Collar Shape: Nothing is worse than seeing an otherwise handsome shirt ruined by a big, floppy collar. The wrong collar shape can instantly ruin your look. I have slightly trimmed the height on Blade + Blue collars, then created a semi-spread shape for a very sharp & modern effect.
• Placket Construction: The slimmer center placket shape of the Blade + Blue shirt is sewn in with a stitch right at the edge of the placket. This technique creates a more streamlined look and eliminates the distracting, 'rumpled' effect that occurs with most other shirts.
